This archive contains reports and analysis conducted by the British Helsinki Human Rights Group between 1991 and 2007. Most of this material was distilled from on the spot research conducted by volunteers into human rights issues in the former Soviet Union, Eastern Europe and the Balkans but with a special emphasis on the conduct of elections and the consequences of war and political turmoil. BHHRG's contributors often reached starkly different conclusions from other human rights groups. For that reason we think it important to republish the Group's conclusions to present a more balanced view of events in post communist Europe and to try to set the record straight.
